I'm not sure about the rest of the people on this community, but I've grown bored of mmo's, at least official one's. I seem to show more of an interest in private servers more due to the fact that everyone seems to be on even ground. Item mall is open to everyone via the item mall currency being sold in game for cheap. That and it is faster leveling so you actually get to see end game instead of wasting years to get to it.

But if there is a game everyone can come together and play ( preferably F2P ) then i will give it a go. I miss gaming with everyone, usually on a private server we'd make Sanctuary, but since it was just me, unleash and schling, we joined a guild. But i miss the days of a nice sized guild with you all, helping each other out, doing dungeon runs, silly banter in guild chat, it's just not the same without it.

But i do suppose real life does have some if not most to busy to play at all if not as much. I'm sure a lot of you probably don't like or prefer private servers, but if your willing to give it a shot and wanna check out perfect world let me know. And by no means is it a recruiting effort, but more like an offer to those bored and willing to try out a private server. Anyways i'm rambling on, probably off topic i dunno, but i'll shut up now lol.

well me personally i have found that i have less and less time to play games but the ironic thing is i am unemployed at the present time and have been for a year now (uggh). i really dont understand how when i was working i managed to play as much, well i do lol but it consisted of me staying up half the bloody night and suffering at work the next day due to lack of sleep and having bad eating patterns etc.

Recently i have been spending a lot more time decorating the house and trying to make use of the time i have to the point we now have a completly decorated hall and stairs (its a big hall lol). I also try and spend some time making stuff like the bird tables etc i have on my facebook. Games just seem to have no meaning to me anymore but i would like to spend a few quality hours playing a game and having fun rather than spending 5 or 6 sleepless hours playing something that ends up feeling like a chore but that would limit my time online and would end up that i would be on during peak euro times rather than US.

Well i guess that explaines my lack of enthusisim.

I still dont know how to beef up the forums or the site and get some interest going, most of the small forums games seem to be drying up and it looks to me that busy lifestyles seem to be taking up more of peoples time. I guess that since we have been on the go for quite a long time its expected. Im glad that ROM is still active but it seems that most of it is confined to the game and not the forums which i guess is to be expected considering most of the people are new recruits and probably dont know about the forums.

well im waffling now lol.

Well for about a week i was actually away from home, spent some time with my brother again. But it looks like that is done an gone since his wife once again made problems and reasons to keep me away. I actually thought i was gonna have a life away from gaming lol. Well the start of next year, if all goes well i might have a job for the first time in.....well i wont say exactly how long, but i will say in quite some time lol.

I miss working and as much as i love gaming i need something else to keep myself busy. But i get it that people have ventured off from gaming for real life and other things. I'd hate for people to end up like me and just gaming all day lol.

As for the forums, the only topic i see being used is the movie thread and some times general. Maybe clean out the old games that we know wont be played anymore? It could be a start and make the site look less cluttered with old topics and threads. Ok thats my thoughts for the moment, i better stop before i start writing a book lol

ok i have had a thought hows about i post a picture say once every 2 weeks and for the first week everyone makes up a caption for it then the second week have a poll on the main page to vote for the best caption. I dont have the means to reward anyone so the best i can come up with is that the winner picks the next picture to be captioned.

Hows that sound? I could also do a hall of fame forum thread with the pictures captioned and listed.

lol that actually sounds fun

I know for me personally, I've been going insane with rl things. I kinda just need a vacation and get away from it all and float for a lil...but I'm way too busy to do that >.< lol. Ppl will actually say, idk how you do this and this at the same time, and I say yea me neither, but you forgot I do this, this and that along with it, it usually equates to some loss of sleep. And by that time they just die.

So yea, I still follow the site but I havn't had much drive to do anything.

Well, I've been comparatively quiet lately. Partly that's because I've been doing a huge amount of travelling but also because the games I play now are LOTRO and a bit of DDO for a quick burst of fun - neither game has much (if any) Sanctuary involvement.

As for the forums, try anything you like - if it doesn't fly, its no big deal, we try something else lol. And people will always come and go, that's life.

Comments: 159	yup LOTRO i dont think has any Sanct playing and well DDO has one or 2 ppl but i have no idea what servers they play on. TBH the only person i know who played LOTR was EL. @Ringy i will try the caption thing but this week i have my dad over so it wont happen this week.

wow didnt see this till I clicked the show all new items thingy. I have been busy in RL. first off work is getting busier... I lost my fiance :P and my new gf seems to be a...well ya get the idea. I miss going into mmos. and rohan.all am doing is browsi the sites and readin up on what to play. moslty playing consol based games lately. but well..maybe when I move to da city next year go go get my BA in teaching. I will be online more often.with a greater connection and ya. I like the idea of the captions :P

Hi Everyone,
My real life issues forced me to get out of gaming for a while. That and the endless grinding. I have been suffering under depression for a while and had the feeling I was becoming addicted. I had to make a break and quit for a while. Im sorry I didn't say anything, I just needed some time. I later realised that the mmo's were a symptom of what was wrong with me and not the cause. I am getting better and have started to play online again.
Because i am a big fan of the Warhammer tabletop game I decided to try WAR. It seems to be well balanced and I can level with PvP (Realm vs Realm). The ability to avoid grinding and still get ahead apeals to me.

OOh Ruf sorry to hear about your fiance and good luck in the future with your teaching.

Hiya Stony, good to see your still about and i know all to well how you are feeling for a time i also thought that mmo playing was a cause of depression but it is infact a release from it. The problem i found was the length of time i was playing them and it was becomming what seemed to be my sole purpouse in life.

Well glad to see you back and its good news your feeling better.

Looks to me that some of you gys need to get your heads together and join up in DDO it seems to have gotten a few of you interested since it went F2P.

Some members, including me, doesn't play as mucha nd wouldnt get the monies worth for P2P games. Everyone is so psyche on Aion, so maybe we can choose an Private server for Aion for some people.

after playing several private servers in the past i dont like the fact that you can get max lvl in a day on some of them, where is the actual challenge? where is the feeling of acheivment? I dont like grinders any more then the next person but i also dont like maxing out just for killing 20 mobs either and becoming a game millionaire over night is pathetic. I also dont trust a lot of these game servers or moreso the people that run then what sort of crap are they putting in the files spyware, key loggers etc?

yea im ranting but i honestly dont get the whole lets skip the game and just pvp the hell out of it crap.

Because many MMO PVP is based 60% on Level, 35% on Equipment and 5% Skill.

The idea of Private server is to skip the melodramatic bitching and whining of people of getting own in PvP.

Private servers, PvP is based on 70% Equipment, 30% Skill.

So you entire grind in Private server is working on gettin better equipment.

All in all it takes you to the real end game content in a week then having to play 3 months to reach it. Even when you play that 3month to hit max lvl, lets say another 3-6 months to get your gear

Most people dropped out by the 2nd month as they are tired of the grind.

Comments: 159	well each to their own i guess, private servers just dont do it for me unless it follows the game with a slight exp and drop rate increase. I guess i like seeing the game content to a certain extent.

Yeah some private servers are faster pace then others, that PW private server i been playing gets you fast to 100, then semi slower to level 150. But you still gotta grind out for gear and god stones to pimp out your gear sockets. Another one me and Unleash tried was a lot slower exp and drop rate but provided the majority of item mall stuff sold at the npc's for in game gold. They even set you up with a starter pack, flight mount, land mount, map that unlocks all teleports, tele stones etc.

But the Aion private server i played had the same exp and drop rates as the official one, the only difference was it was free to play. I'm sure by now they have a lot more stuff working on it then they did when i played it awhile back. I get where your both coming from though, i agree with Minsk, that some private servers i do like slower rates to enjoy the game. But like Agamemnon said sometimes it's just nice to skip past all the tedious BS. For perfect world i tend to go with high rate servers to skip all the boring quests I've done a thousand times on other servers. But if it's a new game i never played a private server for, i tend to like to enjoy the game, kinda like the Aion private server was like. It's just to bad more people didn't play it, i got bored playing alone.

I've been busy with RL stuff as well - work has been leaving me really tired, but I also have resubbed back to WoW as I have a few old friends who still play, and we just do our own thing and talk rubbish in guild chat

I'm very fond of Sanctuary, although I've obviously only been here a very short time, as I've been impressed with how friendly and mature people are. I wouldn't worry too much about any apparent quietness or silence, I think as long as people treat this as the 'Cheers' Bar of the internet (ie. sometimes you just want to drop in someplace 'where everybody knows your name') then you'll not go far wrong ;) - and if some fantastic game comes along that lots of folk want to play, you've got a ready made package of great folk to have fun with.

Comments: 107	I think that's what I liked bout GW way back when. You didn't need to work hard for lvls, and everything is more bout equipment and skills. You would make groups just to beat a boss to cap skill it, or go farming for weapons. And there was rly no best equipment (some were more popular than others) but it all depended on your style and skills you were using.
